Q: Do you recommend trip cancellation insurance and how do we get it? Yes. Visit Trip Insurance for details.

Q: What is your pet policy? We allow well-behaved dogs of any size and their well-behaved human companions.

Q: How do we book a reservation? Call us at 1-603-524-4000 (8am-5pm ET only). If you have any questions, use the web form to the right, or e-mail or call us.

Q: What are the check-in and check-out times? Can times be extended? Check-in is at 4:00 pm. Check-out is at 10:00 am. In certain circumstances we are able to accommodate an earlier check in. This is not a guarantee. Please ask us in advance. If you need a later check out, then please contact us to request that at least 48 hours before your departure. we will attempt to help but cannot guarantee a late check out.

Q: Why do you request a phone call instead of doing online booking? We want to get to know the folks who stay in our homes a little. Our houses are designed to be comfortable and we want them to be taken care of. Each of them holds some of our family antiques -- meant to be used and enjoyed, but not abused. This home is very much a labor of love for us. We stay in each vacation home anywhere from 6 weeks to 5 months a year, depending upon the house. We want our guests to feel like they are using the vacation home of a friend.

Q: How far is The Idyll Mouse Four from Disney's parks? Just minutes away (map). Travel time depends upon traffic (remember Walt Disney World is twice the size of Manhattan), but for most parks, it takes less time than when I stayed on Disney property at the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. Follow our 'back way' directions to save lots of traffic lights and time. To Animal Kingdom, about 5 to 8 minutes. To Epcot and MGM, about 10 minutes. To Magic Kingdom, 15 to 20 minutes.

Q: Do you have any Magic Kingdom tips? Go there when the park opens! Remember, to reach the Magic Kingdom turnstiles, everyone needs to park, take a tram, take the monorail or ferry over, and go through security bag checks. We suggest leaving for the Magic Kingdom around 8 am to arrive at the turnstiles just before opening time at 9 am. From Disney's own hotels, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes (walking from the Contemporary Hotel) to over an hour to reach the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney wanted people to be transported to another world -- and it takes time to get there. If you want to see the Magic Kingdom's fireworks one night only, then book dinner at Ohana or Kona Cafe and watch them from the Polynesian beach after dinner (or even do the Luau there). Or go to eat at the California Grill (very pricey but good) overtop the Contemporary Hotel for great fireworks views.
If you can afford it, and if you can snag a reservation, the absolute most enchanting way to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks is on a specialty private cruise that leaves from the docks of either the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge. Call 407-WDW-PLAY to inquire and book up to 90 days in advance. Sometimes you can book same day due to cancellations. Just INCREDIBLE!!!
Q: How clean is the house? We maintain a very clean house, and prior guest comments demonstrate that. In addition to regular cleanings, we pay to have to house deep cleaned four times a year, plus have the windows cleaned, plus have the HVAC ducts vacuumed/cleaned. Outside walkways are pressure washed several times a year. We ask guests to wipe down the baby equipment before they leave and provide Clorox wipes for that purpose. We leave a dust buster, two vacuums, Swiffer wet and dry, etc. And I can't say enough good things about the cleaning staff.

Q: What about discount tickets for Disney? We have used Undercover Tourist, recommended on Mary Warring's MouseSavers.com site, which I totally trust. No one has complained to me of any problems.

Q: Where is the closest grocery store? In the shopping center at the corner Formosa Gardens Blvd and Route 192. However, for major shopping we prefer the brand new Super Target further west on Route 192. Also, for a fee, there is a grocery shopping service that will deliver to the house (immediately below).

Q: What about a grocery shopping service? Use InstaCart.

Q: How close are hospitals, urgent care centers, vets? Urgent care is by the closest grocery store (2 miles). The closest hospital is in nearby Celebration, FL (6.5 miles). The vet is 4 miles away.

Q: Do cleaning people come during our stay? No, they clean before and after your stay.

Q: Upon leaving, do we need to wash sheets, towels, etc? The only towels you are expected to wash and put away clean are the pool towels or 'puppy towels' or 'puppy sheets' you might use during your stay. If you have time to strip the beds before you leave, our cleaning staff would greatly appreciate that.

Q: Do you provide shuttle service to the various parks? We strongly recommend a cheap rental car or van (and Orlando is FULL of them) because it gives YOU total flexibility instead depending upon a shuttle schedule.

Q: In the event of a hurricane, are monies refunded? There are no refunds due to weather conditions, including hurricane evacuations, because Trip Cancellation Insurance is now available. If you are concerned about this possibility, you can eliminate the risk by purchasing appropriate insurance. Consult your travel agent, insurance agent, or various Internet sites, to obtain the insurance.

Q: Do you offer rental car discounts? Yes. Visit Idyll Rental Car Discounts for details.

Q: Do you know of any good pet friendly hotels on I-95 as we travel to and from your vacation homes? Yes. Visit Where to say on I-95 for details.

Q: Where are the best places on I-95 to buy inexpensive gas? Please visit our I-95 guide for details.

Q: Do I need to bring sheets and towels? No, sheets and towels are provided, as are pool towels.

Q: Can I park my RV / Trailer at the home? No. Community restrictions prohibit parking of RV's and trailers in the driveway or on the street. We recommend parking your RV / Trailer at a local storage facility. Please contact us if your RV is used for medical reasons.

Q: Is there a garage to park in? No, but we have a wonderfully long drive. Parking on the grass, or over the sidewalk is prohibited.

Q: I paid for pool heating, how does that work? Almost every other Orlando hotel and private rental house sets pool heat to 82° or 84° absolute maximum, and most rental houses only run it 8 hours during daylight hours only because of cost and refuse to do it any more hours no matter what. Anyway, we set the heat to run later into the evening than other owners. We also set it to the legal upper limit for rental houses, which is around 87° to 88°. If you are wondering about the pool heat, please have the following info available so we can help diagnose/solve the issue. Is it cold there at night? Are you using the blue pool blanket when you are not in it? What time are you swimming as the pump and heater turn off at a certain time of day? The pool heat pump and heat cuts off at 6 or 7 depending on time of year, and if it is cold there, and you swim even an hour later, it will lose temperature during that hour or so, especially if the pool blanket is off and you continue to swim. So it might be losing temp quickly after dark.

Q: Will anyone come to the home while I am there? Yes, lawn care and pool care are scheduled weekly. They do not access the inside of the home, however please leave the screen enclosure unlocked and do not block the gate into the back yard.

Q: What are the closest major beaches? Here are directions to Clearwater Beach (88 miles), Cocoa Beach (72 miles), and Daytona Beach (78 miles).

Q: What are your Cancellation Policies? We are a small family-owned vacation rental company. Every guest reservation is both important and special to us. Reservations may only be cancelled within time frames specified in your signed lease (sample lease).
